Dropping Off

There is a back entrance to the Avant Garde School, you are allowed to drop your child off at the door and an Avant Garde Staff member will assist them into their classroom. You may also bring them in and wait in the lobby during class!

Picking Up

We ask that all children are picked up inside the studio. Unless the student is driving themselves, we ask that a parent, guardian or approved person pick the child up from the school after each class.

What is the student to teacher ratio?
We find the best ratio for students ages 3 to 6 is a maximum of 10 students. For ages 7 to 12 the maximum is 15 students; for ages 13 to 18 it varies between 20 to 25 students depending on the level and progression of the class.
When is the Christmas Show?
When is the Spring Show?
Where are the annual shows held?
Does my student have to participate in the Christmas and Spring Shows?

Not necessarily, every class has the opportunity to perform in Avant Garde's two annual shows.

If there is a circumstance such as illness, death in the family, or conflicting issues we understand. We encourage our students to be in the shows for performance experience and comradery with other students.

The shows are rehearsed during the last 15 to 20 minutes of class, so if your student chooses not to participate, they can learn the choreography on the side as an understudy. The student will not be put in the dance to avoid confusion for the instructor and students.

Who is the Artistic Director and Staff?
You can find more information about all of our Artistic Staff on our About Us page.
How do I use Avant Garde's Mobile App?

Avant Garde believes that a good student is an educated one. The best way that we can educate our students is by implementing methods to encourage learning.

Parents can track and manage their students, account, classes, schedules, alerts, and much more

Students can earn points for merchandise and cool treats, learn everything about their style of dance in The Avant Garde University, track their classes, communicate with peers, and much more.

Why does my child have to take more Ballet Classes than other Dance Classes?

Ballet is the foundation for all other genres of dance.

It helps in learning all of the core steps that are required for any other style of dance. It also cleans their technique for all the other styles as well.

Do you offer Virtual Classes?

As we work towards continuing to engage our community through dance, we have added a lot of exciting opportunities to our Exclusive Virtual Dance Program!

While a virtual dance class can never replace being face-to-face, we hope that it allows for a more personal and tailored class experience.

As with anything new, there will be a learning curve, but we will explain how the system works and all you need is a laptop, tablet or even a mobile phone!

The schedule could change from week to week, depending on enrollment and instructor availability, so please make sure you are following us on Facebook for updates!
